Welcome to Week 019 of The Colorist Edit.
There were so many good questions from the community so this week I’m doing a part 2 of the Q&A ! We discussed a little more fall styling since it is coming in fast.
If you’re new here, subscribe so you don’t miss the next Edit.
And now, let’s get into it. A few things we cover in the video:
Styling Dark Wash Denim: Tips to add a little edge and not have it feeling too polished or too blocky.
Shoes for Petites: The right height and shape to create visual lines and elongate the silhouette
Socks, No Show vs Crew Socks: Which is trendier and how to wear them
Ditch the Default 30 Day Style Challenge
Many of you have been asking me for help developing your personal style, so I’m excited to announce that I’ll be launching a style challenge September 15th.
» Link to the Challenge Here «
Developing your personal style takes a lot of practice and trial & error. If you do it right, you will slowly uncover the combinations of colors, fabrics, and silhouettes that you naturally gravitate toward. But we can only discover that if we’re willing to ditch the default.
When you join the challenge, you’ll have the opportunity to practice putting together outfits for 30 days, following weekly themes and lessons.
You’ll also be part of a group with direct access to me through a group chat, ongoing Q&As, and live sessions. My goal is to help you discover the style that gives you your own unique edge, and walk away with the tools and confidence to get dressed in a way that feels like you.
What’s Been Catching My Eye (In No Particular Order)
Archies Flip Flops. I have been wanting to try a pair of these and Archies kindly gifted me a few colorways. They are so comfortable, with just enough support and slightly tighter straps so your feet don’t slide around. They do recommend sizing up if you’re in between sizes.
Ilia Skin Tint. I have long used and loved this brand. Their products have cleaner ingredients and are very lovely. I have been wanting to try this particular product for awhile now and I can say it does not disappoint. It’s not going to be a full coverage product, but its perfect for the daytime and adding a subtle glow to your skin.
Frye Kate Boots. I have been searching for the perfect pair of knee high black boots that can easily transition from day to night and these are it! They feel like cross between a cowboy boot and riding boot; they’re modern and easy to wear.

Instagram Highlights
And be sure to catch up on all the reels and fun that has been happening on my instagram.
A big theme of the week on instagram was fall color and styling tips. This season, the color stories are so rich and vibrant, and we have some more daring colors than previous seasons. It so much fun playing around with different combinations and inspiring you to experiment with color this fall.
I think so many people hear fall and feel like they have to wear browns, camels and oranges, but NO, pink can be a fall color! And blue and purple too. And that goes for men too, we discussed some great fall colors and styling tips for them this week.
Lastly, I did a reel for one of my favorite series “you could be cooler” where I want to empower and inspire you to go for it with your fashion. Be a little daring, make someone look twice, wear bolder color. Most importantly, fashion should be fun and it should feel like you.
